Text description provided by the architects. While utilizing the merit of the existing building, the project aims to improve the heat insulating effect at a low cost.
Before the renovation, the office environment had cold air enter from the window in winter, and the blind to receive the strong sunlight in summer has been a dead line and a closed space.
The new space was designed with this continuous window and I thought how to change it to a positive direction.
The re-thinking and the lighting adjustments of the space help to increase the air-conditioning efficiency in priority during winter, and at the same time the window is a continuous buffer between the external and the internal space.
The space generated between the new additions and the original ceiling makes storage space possible.
